[South Bend, IN]- Marion General Hospital and South Bend Medical Foundation have joined efforts to ensure that the needs of the community blood supply are met. Under the agreement, South Bend Medical Foundation will open a new donor center, which will target blood donors in the area; therefore, allowing Marion General Hospital to concentrate on strengthening other services they provide.

“Our expanded partnership with South Bend Medical Foundation to provide a new donor center brings their knowledge and expertise to the community and enables us to focus resources on providing other critical services for our Healthcare Community,” said Marion General’s President/CEO, Paul Usher.

The new donor center, which will open August 17th, will be located in MGH’s Medical Office Building at 330 North Wabash Avenue, Suite G-10 on the lower level. The center will maintain the hours of Monday and Tuesday 11am-7pm, Wednesday 9am-1pm, Thursday and Friday 7am-3:30pm and Saturday from 8am-1pm. Donors may call 765.662.4630 to make an appointment.

Donors are welcome to tour the new donor center and learn more about the partnership between the two organizations during an Open House held September 2nd from 4pm until 7pm with the ribbon cutting ceremony at 5pm.

South Bend Medical Foundation is located in South Bend, Indiana and has been in existence since 1912. The Foundation has operated its own blood bank since 1942 and has been helping communities meet their blood product needs since then.
